Stock Sturmey Archer 3-Speed

Looking for a commuter/errand bike, when I stumbled across this one on craigslist. Mint condition already, but cleaned it up a bit, adding some folding grocery baskets with wood panel inserts to the old school rack, replaced the original black Dunlop tires with cream Schwalbe Delta Cruisers, added new brakes, new Brooks saddle, new shellac coated cork grips, and of course forked kickstand for all those groceries. Last thing would be an old school bullet headlight as a winter project. Check out some of the details:

very nice very clean. don't

very nice very clean. don't see too much like that on this page. you must really love 'em

Well done!

The grips, saddle and tires finish it off nicely. A Raleigh heron stem lamp mount and Sturmey Archer lamp would be the cherry on top.

It was a challenge to find

Thanks! I tried to find an original Sturmey Archer light, but no luck. It was a challenge to find and rewire, but I found a bullet headlight and updated it to a high output LED (cree) with rechargeable AA batteries.

light

mine is battery operated with a regular light bulb. i converted it to a LED bulb. conversion was not as easy as i thought it would be, but well worth the time spent. it's much brighter.

very well done

there were some bullet style head lights on ebay a while back. i got one for my ride as well.

Wow

This isn't typically the type of bike I'm into...but that sure is classy. Grant Peterson would approve of the bar height!
