Mercian road bike

The coolest thing about this bike was that the frameset was free! While the shop owner was away in Sweden a couple year ago, I told him I'd cover as many shop hours as possible (otherwise he'd have to close as it's just him). Of course I got nosey during the off hours, and starting pulling all sorts of stuff down from the attic and rafters. That's where I found this frame, which had been hanging from the ceiling, forgotten, since 1981. I measured it up and it was my size (52cm). When he got back, I asked him what he wanted for it. He told me to build it up and we'd talk price later. Once I had slapped on all of the stuff I was saving up for a vintage project, he said to keep it as it was a gift for watching the store. How f'in cool was that?
