1981 Miyata 310 1024 Steel lugged Cromoly Quad Butted, Miyata Team Blue, once hated the color but now I like it. Big Frame!

Replaced stock SR with Ritchey Comp Drops

Stock steel fork w/forged SunTour dropouts, headset is Tange MA-60 Stock

Shimano WH550 700c with Specialized All-Condition Pro 23c

Shimano WH550 700c with Specialized All-Condition Pro 23c

Took out cheap stock parts and put in 2009 Shimano 105 Crank and 105 Bottom Bracket.

My buddy Robert sent me that free Selle Italia for it. Nitto seatpost

KMC Z Chain, I got 2 of them for 5 bucks. Black mystery cage pedals, he don't do cleats.

Shimano 105 cassette 8-Speed

Was a singlespeed conversion until I figured out my brother wanted a bike too and this would be way better for him, he's muy grande. This has a 25" seat tube.

Still very cheap build, used gift-certs for a new 105 crank and the wheels, I have 80 bucks into the wheel/tire combo, bike itself was 24 bucks, 105 crank cost me shipping, so I'll put that in this and use stock crank in my personal project bike.

I bought it at a junkyard, perched on top of a bunch of really trashed bikes. It was asking to be bought. It was 24 bones. I took off the reflectors and fenders thinking I'd make it a little lighter and faster, but this is now for my brother, it gets a brand new wheelset, new tires, and other parts I've been collecting since I got it in late summer 2008.

He wants gears so I'm going to get 105-600 level Shimano Indexes to replace the stock Suntour friction shifters, probably a new cassette, F & R Derailleurs. New brakeset too, and a headset eventually. Everything but the frameset is gonna go eventually.

All I do is look for cheap steel. I can't see going aluminum or carbon unless I can get the deal of a lifetime.

The November 2009 update is that this bike is pulled together and rides great. I'm still going to swap out the brakes and deraillieurs and seat post, but everything else has been updated and it looks and rides kickass. New pics when my camera lens arrives.
