Beautiful custom detailing from a bygone era. Although Nakagawa is still active many of the unique things about this frame are no longer possible because the fittings are no longer produced, like the hybrid pantographed double plate crown, nibbed head lugs, ornate BB shell cut outs and also the pressed seat tubes which are now illegal according to UCI rules. (He will bend the rules and dent your seat tube if you ask nicely!) Nakagawa track frames are rare even in Japan as his main focus is building road frames. He does not have NJS certification and has much more freedom to experiment with geometry, materials and fittings on his track frames. Unfortunately a little too small. Sold.
Shigeru Nakagawa learned framebuilding at the Zunow bicycle factory in Osaka. He established Nakagawa Cycle Works in 1983. Pink and white are the standard Nakagawa team colors.

Lately I'm really into lugged steel frames you can identify without logos or decals. Special lugs, fork crowns, seat clusters or geometry etc. This one fits the bill and more importantly it's really fun to ride...
