I have been trying to find some info on this frame for a while now, the short winded version of all the info is.... Mr. Fiorelli built bikes for Angelo Fausto Coppi who held the hour record from 1942-56. This particular frame has heart shaped cutouts in the lugs and is built from Columbus Aelle tubing. Coppi and "C" are phantographed into the fork, chainring and stem. beautiful lugged frame, components with some history, original paint...

*only have the original rear wheel (Malliard to Wolber super champion 36) it has since been rebuilt
I have a front Malliard 36 but still need to find another tubular wolber super champion to have the complete original wheelset

Updates to come: new Drops (42cm Cinelli or B125) nicer wheels will be built up when i have the time and $

Your Fiorelli Pista

I went through the same business with my Coppi. I hadn't heard of Fiorelli, like the other bigs, so I wondered and I searched. I got a little lucky, but I also found that the Italians don't really keep a history of their frames. But know this: Fiorelli bikes were built in Novi Liguri, in northern Italy. They made Coppi's bikes in the early 1950's, when he had his own team. They also built Ole Ritter's bike whem he set an hour record. They made excellent racing frames, by hand in their factory in Novi Liguri--just like yours. Just enjoy the bike, as the Fiorellis intended. The 'Coppi' pantographing sort of makes yours a 'Campionissimo' model.

Thanks so much!

Good to know! i was wondering about the particular model because the paint was different from the catalog page that was posted online. I am glad you found this bike because you have been able to give some good input on the other fiorelli's on this site. Any recommendations for a permanent set of wheels? I really want to go with spoke washers, double butted spoked tied and soldered with either some Mavic open Pro's or lo-pofile campy rims laced to....? period correct would be ideal, but part of me wants to just go with some Mavic Ellipse's. they seem like they would be a great, no hassle (more readily obtainable) all round wheelset. Also a 26.8 Thompson is probably in the works, i had to do some work on the clamping mechanism on the current post and do not trust it fully.

Campionissimo

You're welcome. The Mavics look good, and they do make solid rims. But the original rims would have been Italian, like Ambrosio, Gipiemme, or Nisi. Go for a high spoke count--strength. The gentleman who built my track frame recommended Ambrosio Excellence for their look, strength and high spoke count. And they're no expensive. They are gorgeous, almost box-style(more strength), clinchers, and you keep it all Italian. Glad I could help with the info. Enjoy the ride.

Very nice!

I'm pretty crazy about those Tommaso frames. I don't know what it is but I think they look really good.
