Yeah, I bought the frame used... so you never know what you're going to get with a vintage piece. When I went to take the fork off, the headset cup just fell out. It turns out the headtube was slightly ovalized. So my local bike shop had to melt some brass in there and mill it out. There are some rough patches on the headtube, but all in all I think it looks pretty swell.

My guy Duane at Chester Cycles used to paint automobiles, so he knows his shit. He stripped, primed, painted, and clearcoated it. I'm unaware of any details beyond that. I can tell you I had about 30,000 colors to choose from (that made things terribly difficult). All water based colors from what I understand, so it's Eco-Friendly! ...except for that damn clearcoat:(
