58cm (C to C), Swiss-built, Columbus Aelle tubing, Gipiemme drop-outs

3T, 3T with Tekro aero levers

Cilo fork with Gipiemme fork ends, Shimano 600

Mavic MA40 laced to Shimano 600 hub, Michelin Erilium 2 rubber

Mavic MA40 lace to Shimano 600 hub, Michelin Erilium 2 rubber

Shimano 600

Brooks B17, Stock

Japanese Campy copies, SRAM

14-28 6-speed freewheel to 42/52 rings

New to the stable, first Columbus frame. Unsure of the year, but guessing mid '80s. Great geometry, super responsive handling. The frame is so stiff and the Erilium's have such sticky sidewalls that the tires shoot rocks across the road. At car doors. I keep noticing that.

Nice, nice.

Components, steering, all great stuff.
Excellent wheel set, still in demand.
I'd go aero on the levers.

Also, if you can somehow mask off and clearcoat those decals, they'll last a lot longer. It's amazing they've been there that long.

Truly a great catch, and quite the frame. Good job.

Muchas gracias...

Thanks, Rob.
Aero levers to come, I may even grab a set off another bike I've got lying around, especially considering that the bars are already there and need new tape. If the candycane was actually padded in any way, I might consider leaving it, but...it's not.

NICE RIDE

CHAIN LOOKS TO BE A LITTLE SHORT, CAGE SHOULD HAVE A LITTLE MORE SLACK.

Good eye

I hadn't noticed that, but now that you mention it, it does seem a bit overextended. It is on the large chainwheel and large sprocket, though, but I will take a look at that pronto! Thanks!

I was thinking about getting

I was thinking about getting this on craigslist. How do you like it? Looks great.

Funny that you noticed that and then saw it here

It's pretty sweet...nice and light, too. I typically ride vintage bikes so this one is pretty modern for me. I can't believe how well it shifts, even compared to my bike with NR derailleurs. It handles really responsively and the wheels take the road well. The previous owner told me that Will Oldham had sent him an email about taking a look at it while he was working in Chicago this week. I guess that makes this bike almost famous.
