I raced on this bike back in the 70's. It is actually a Redline labeled as a Nishiki.

very sweet

i could spot the redline welds and geometry anywhere. however, redline was alive and well as a company since the early 70s. they started out making motorcycle frames. the frame you have looks to be a late 70s proline, also similar to the later MXII. it appears that redline and nishiki had a deal. nothing new, as R&R frames were stickered as centurions in the mid-70s. the deal must have been short-lived though, as I've never seen one until now. good job hanging on to that through the years.
cheers.
edit: here's a cool thread about this bike.

Nishiki/Redline

Thanks for the info. I know that Nishiki was not the manufacturer, but rather a marketing name (much like Redline). I believe the frame was built by Nakamura. My bike was imported into Canada in 1977 or 78 if I am not mistaken. I was given it in 1979 as a bonus from the shop where I worked as it wasn't selling (It was too expensive for our customers). The serial number is WJ000212. If I remember correctly there were only about 20 of these frames imported into Canada.
