The Century was issued in 1990 by Miyata to commemorate 100 years of bicycle manufacturing. It is essentially a pimped-up version of the Koga-Miyata Skyrunner (Miyata Elevation 10,000 in the U.S.) Its most distinctive feature is the gold plated lugs. Yes, it is real gold!

Edit July 17, 2009: I have restored the bike to its original configuration. It is now 100% original, just as it left the factory. Spoke reflectors are gone now :-)

Friggin'

Gorgeous bro, pull those reflectors as close to the rim as possible it looks a bit better.

spoke reflectors?

0scooters

Reflectors required

Yep, reflectors are a legal requirement here in Sweden whenever you ride on public streets or roads. If the police catch you riding without them, your wallet gets lighter. Only road racers are exempt (but only in daylight, at night they have to have them too).

They don't do much for the looks, do they?

Lights

Can you at least just have lights instead?

RE: Lights

At night the requirement is reflectors and lights!
In daylight, reflectors only is deemed sufficient according to our wise legislators. The law is actually more lenient now than it was up to some 10-15 years ago. Then lights and reflectors were required at all times. Lights didn't have to be switched on in daylight, but they had to be mounted and fully functional.

Thats pretty Tyrannical

its rediculous.

i just got a ticket last

i just got a ticket last night , the man doesnt do anything for us .....
