I bought this bike from a roadside junk seller who had sanded the whole thing down and spray painted it pea-green and silver (Even the chain was painted silver and the rims and spokes were painted green). I bought it as a project for my girlfriend's birthday. Based on the serial number and some online information I found that it was the '66 Hollywood Deluxe. Most of the parts were rusting badly, in fact the little bolt that keeps the stem in place broke and the wedge seemed to have welded itself into the fork; it wouldn't budge with any amount of hammering. Fortunately, I found a '67 Hollywood Deluxe in mint condition being parted and sold on ebay and I replaced all the parts I had to with parts from it. I next had the frame and the fenders sand blasted and powder coated. Finally, I put all the parts back together and the bike looks beautiful. She loves it!
