I have been through eight of these F series frames. I have cracked every one of them in various places around the rear dropouts. Probably from continuously jumping on tires with over 100 psi. In the summer of 1999, when I first received this particular frameset, I rode the entire coast of North and South Carolina on it, about 70% was ridden on the sand and bare shoreline. BRUTAL. When I completed the ride the bottom bracket was fused to the frame from the saltwater, so I had to use a blowtorch to loosen it and eventually strip the frame due to the destruction of the paint from the heat. Plus, I hate factory logos on frames. If I am correct, this bike had "cannondale" printed on it in about thirteen different places. "I bought your technology, you don't pay me to ride your shit, so get out of my face" is one of my mottos. The original finish was one of those hideous race designs they put on their team models. Blue gloss paint with yellow and red graphics. I retired this bike years ago and today I just ride it to work. Thanks. Oh yeah...cutting old tubes into strips and wrapping the top tube as well as the chainstay is something I have been doing for over 25 years now and have yet to have a assault bike without. I dig the way the rubber dampens the chain slap on a geared bike as well as the grip your legs get on the top tube in the air or while cornering without hands. Bye.

Ah, yeah, I use bar wrap

Ah, yeah, I use bar wrap back there. You get to pick the color!

One of the nice things about Cannondale frames is that they're already really distinctive. I think they started the stupid number of logos because other companies started using fat tubes, too.

So, yeah, I stripped the logos off my Cannondale, as well, then had it re-powdercoated. What attracts me most to those frames is the bold elegance of the shapes. The logos don't add to that.
