People who friended this bike CONDENADO, imlightning, maxisgoinghome

yeahhhh thats right. i've

yeahhhh thats right. i've upgraded some parts. i think i need to get some shorter cranks though the 175mm are killing me on some turns. i clipped the ground and landed on some rocks and cut my hand open and had to get stitches. i also took the decals off.. and got a front brake.

hmm

I thought the steamroller was threadless. how are you using a quill stem?

by using

chris king grip nut, he can quill that shit.

i think im going to invest

i think im going to invest in pedals with toe clips. and riser bars. because the leather is rough on my hands.

YES

WE DID IT, YOUR GONNA BUY TOE CLIPS!

what about pedals with

what about pedals with straps and toe clips?

Sorry.

Oh haha, my bad, see I always refer to toe-clips as clips. I guess for my point its interchangeable, that straight pedals are not a wise choice.

Get at some toe-clips, you'll be able to control your bike much better.

i see and understand. i will

i see and understand. i will purchase clips in the near future.

why would clips be any

why would clips be any different?? people on here are assholes.

clips

these guys are correct, they can sound like assholes but in this case it may be "tough love".

My two cents:
This thing WILL buck you off when you least expect it.
I know some people that ride platforms and they fall into three groups. The first is experienced track racers who are only riding to the local store and are going very slow. The second is a few guys in shibuya who treat their bikes like a BMX, also going very slow. The third is this growing group of people who want to be like the shibuya heads.

Other than that, there is the thing called "spinning". Spinning is the most efficient way to pedal your bike, pulling up with the back foot while pushing down with the back making smooth arcs as you go around. There are countless books on the subject.

A very good idea for you may be those double sided clipless pedals, one side has the clip for cleats and the other side is a plain platform. Or get a brake

Just please be careful and don't crack your head open.

P.S. 48/16 = one skid patch

48/16=3.0 gain ratio

so how many tires with one spot worn out have you gone through

48/16=3.0 gain ratio

Not being an asshole.

Its just unsafe, Ive gone down a hill, although it was abnormally large with a major intersection at the bottom, and due to some alcohol consumption and me not putting my feet in the clips cause i thought i would miss the light, I got thrown off my bike and went to the hospital.

You can skid without having to lean forward on your bike when using
clips.

Its just safer, thats all.

(You could not be riding like my ass does, running reds and have been hit by cars before. But either way, clips are cheap. Shit, you come to the shop at where i work, and you can have a set for a buck.)

48 16

lets see you hit a big hill and try and stop without clips.

i might invest in clips. but

i might invest in clips. but no brakes my friend. whats the point of having a fixie if you have brakes.

Did you seriously just say that?

Are people so brainwashed by this trend that they really think there's no point in riding a fixed gear bike with brakes?

'Kinda makes me sad.

id much rather be one with

id much rather be one with the bike and use my muscles than use a brake.

You needs brakes or

You needs brakes or toeclips. End of story. First of all you make it unsafe for anyone to ride around you. I don't care how "connected" to the bike you feel. I am sure that other non-cyclists will see you barely able to control or stop your bike and they will feel that much better about the current state of cycling. Learn how to ride your bike, and as soon as you can control your bike in any situation then you can start making stupid decisions on brakes and toe clips.

What is with

having no clips?

Seriously...

No clips and no brakes is pretty dumb. Have fun riding around at 10 mph everywhere.
