I've been looking for some SPD compatible shoes and I can't make a decision. I'm mostly looking at MTB shoes because I'd like to be able to walk in them without making a loud tapping sound and scratching up my floors. It would also be nice if I could find some that don't cost a fortune. I'm just looking for them for casual riding, so weight isn't an issue or anything.

Here are a few I've found:

What are you all wearing and how do you like them? I'm worried I'll buy some shoes and they won't be as "walkable" as their descriptions make them seem.

Thanks a lot. I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. I've searched for it but the search tool on this forum is practically useless.

I have some shimano mo75s and they work great and walking in them is not horrible, plus they are under 60 bucks. http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=13051&src=froogleUS¤cy=USD

Well I don't know if they are the best, but I have a pair of Bontrager Streets. They do have this ridicules insole with a wicked high arch, which I replaced with a normal "gellin" insole, since I have little or no arch to speak of. I have eggbeaters and the clip tucks in nicely with no tappa tappa noise what-so-ever. They are quite walkable, although I wouldn't want to walk too far in them, what with the extremely stiff sole and all. I find them to be very comfortable and a joy to ride in, plus they only look slightly goofy when you are off the bike. Which is nice...

I'm wearing those also. They are one of the few clipless shoes that does not look like a "space shoe". They are a little on the heavy side, when compared to a $300 shoe, and not quite as stiff as top-of-the-line shoes, but they fit well and look decent and have done the job so far. I recommend them.

I just weight them, and they come in at 890g for both shoes. Just for reference. Abit on the heavy side, when compared to some road shoes weighing around 200-300g.

I’d have to say use whatever shoe fits your feet best first, fits your type of riding second, your wallet third & what looks good to your eyes last...

Bottom line; use what works for you above all else!
