I bought a set of hed3's , and My plan was to remove the rear cassette , and insteall the surrly fixxer kit for my track bike . I called hed, and they told me if it was a dura ace cassette , it wouldnt work, but ultegra would ? Dont they both go on the same ? The freewheel and all comes off, and the converter screws in, am I missing something ?
The wheels arnt here yet, but the hed3's were from 04 , if that helps at all. Thanks for any info . -

If you look at the specs of the surly fixxer there are a couple of years and models that it will not fit. Double check the specs and see if your hub is one of them. -

Personally I'd turn those HED3s right back around and get me a sensible wheelset but that's me. In theory the surly fixxer should work but do like wes m. said and make sure your hub is compatible.
Then sell those HEDs. -

Well, I always ride my trispoke , its a really solid wheel. I picked up a set for pretty cheap, and it wont cost me that much to convert the rear hed to fixed . I just wanted to make sure everything is going to work out like I think it will. Also , is there a list online anywhere of which years and models it wont work on? thanks
