Rode and shot Sunday. Weather was PERFECT. no direct sunshine most of the ride, overcast but no rain. Very little wind.

First rest stop, just stopping to top off water bottles, grab a small sandwich. Two Italian legends next to each other.

Old-school Bottechia!!! Seems I'm not the only classic Italian on the road.

    On the road

About how fast I was cruising, hit a lot faster than this a few times

    Next rest stop. Schwinn Paramount!!

My friend Tom's tallbike, this thing is a riot. Two Fuji frames welded on top of each other. He calls it "Mt Fuji". Always the center of attention at all the rides. People were calling him Lighthouse.

    Giggity!!!

One of the pelotons, these guys left earlier and were coming back. VERY fast group. I've rode with them at MSBike and these guys are damn fast, was nothing to see 25-28mph riding with this crowd.

Turn-around point. Stopping for drinks pretty much.

Art imitates life, question is deciding which one of these is art.

Mileage on this bike at the turning point. Makes perfect sense, two different riders went down 2 miles from here at the same spot

Our volunteer crew, two of them. These people were awesome.

Some POV shots, rode with the Stormriders, these guys are fast, good group to ride with. I broke away from all of them at 10 miles to finish, never saw them until the finish line.

This is some kind of huge boat, "Octopussy". My net worth went up 4 fold standing next to this thing. It's powered by jet turbine-shafts. Probably owned by some guy at AIG, Bank of America, citibank, etc.

    Finish!!!

    My crazy friend Tom

o nom nom nom nom nom nom

    refrigeration FTMFW

Best part was coming back home from the ride I helped a hot chick on the side of the road and got her number.

I might check out that ride as well. Hopefully it'll get a little warmer by then ...

I like hitting 529 on the weekends. I did nearly a century on my fixed gear going out to brookshire a couple of weeks ago. Once you get past barker cypress it pretty much drops straight into country side, with a large shoulder and little traffic. The intersection of 362 and 529 makes a good rest spot as well. Some guy runs a roadside kitchen out of a trailer there, and has a couple of picnic benches under canopies to rest under. I usually grab a smoothie and a banana, since most of the other stuff probably wouldn't settle or stay down too well on a long ride.
