I want black cranks, but don't have the cash to buy the black suginos.
I'm pretty sure it will work, but will the silver anodization affect the adhesion of the polymer? -

Really? Just save a little more $ and buy black ones . -

No dude here's what you do. I've got this black set of Sugino VPs danglin from an old schwinn conversion at the house. You give me your 75s and I'll give you my VPs!!!!
For real though it's a pain in the ass to paint anodized metal. Like you could get it coated but it'll come off over time unless you strip the anodic film and do a chemical conversion treatment.
That'd easily cost more than a new crankset.
Fool put them 75s up on eBay and get a set of black messengers off the profit. You don't need 75s for mashin around Arvada :P -

huh... sounds like too much work.
Looks like I'll be getting some messengers.
Will those be stiff enough for the track?
Are there any 130bcd chainrings made with 49 teeth?
Haha i'm on the complete opposite side of town than arvada, but I know what you mean. -

Oh you wanna ride those on the velodrome? I mean yeah they'll work for sure but I'm sure you'll eventually be pissed you're not riding with 75s. The messengers are just about perfect for anything off the track though.
Oh dude I'm not gonna have my frameset tomorrow. I don't think it's showing up till Tuesday or Wednesday. Mike's ridin my Alien so I'm short a bike. If you're downtown though you oughta stop by the house. My girl's makin vegan nachos sometime in the afternoon. -

You might be able to take your current cranks to a shop and have them anodized. I have no idea how much it would cost, but there a lot of specialty metal shops that could do this for you:

hey you guys i just noticed that lickedwicked hasnt been on here for like 2 weeks did greg finally get rid of him?
and for the 75 problem i would say sell the old one and just save up a little longer for the black one. -

Nope... but you sure know a lot about him, considering you've only been a member for roughly 3 days... oh wait... that coincides within an hour of henrybears, who hasn't posted since being called out for possibly posting the very ad he was inquiring about on craigslist (which clearly had to be bullshit). Also, none of the aforementioned profiles have bikes associated with them (including lickedwicked), and you all seem to have similarities in your grammatical shortcomings
That being said, I'm going to bet that you're him :)

if you are just riding in the city then buy an pake off of the bike biz in black so you can still ride your bike then sell the old 75 and save for a new one or just look at ebay and craigslist. -

Or just ride the current ones until he gets more money and then sell them to get enough for new ones. Problem solved -

I am planning on building up a vigorelli specifically for making left turns with my truvative omniums early next spring, but I need something to make left turns and ride on the street with until then. You know? I think I'll buy the black 75's, then sell my silver ones, and just use my beater bike when a sealed bottom bracket is in need. In no particular order. I checked my bank account today, and it turns out that I have much more money than I had thought.
Ah, no good! Just let me know when you're ready to roll.
Oh cool, man! I'll definately stop by. Give me a ring or something when you recover from your all nighter at work.
Vegan nachos, sounds delicious haha.Posted By: carbon fiber15if you are just riding in the city then buy an pake off of the bike biz in black so you can still ride your bike then sell the old 75 and save for a new one or just look at ebay and craigslist.

How 'bout no, scott is an allusion to a very popular movie from several years ago.
Good, god. Why back to the uncle?

I think it's funny someone would make a new screenname on here because they thought they had too many bikes as their friend. Hahaha. That's so silly. And I don't think anyone really cares who you are anyway, nor will anyone be personally judging you on your Velospace profile.
On topic, just sell your 75 ARMS ONLY, and buy some black ones. Don't bother getting messanger cranks, because then you need a new bottom bracket, new chainring, etc. That was a stupid suggestion. Just trade someone for new arms actually, maybe even on the classified here! -

The best price I know of for a new pair of black sugino 75's is at treefortbikes.com (can't provide direct link since it's all flash based). They're like 200 bucks shipped versus the ~240 most people charge. -

Well now I wouldn't call it a stupid suggestion there homeboy. The idea was that if you just need a solid set of cranks for riding around town and you'd like them to be black you could do a lot worse than the messenger setup. Sugino 75s are very nice but the matching bottom bracket is loose ball bearing and for riding through dirty streets all year you just don't need them. You could sell the crankset alone and have enough to buy a brand new set of messengers in any color you want and a new Sugino sealed bottom bracket and probably have enough left over to hit up City O' City for a buffalo wrap. Then you could sell that 75 bottom bracket and get a whole grip of midget pr0n from that place on Colfax!
You see I thinks things ahead.
But yeah if it's velodrome time and you're lookin for black then just seein about swappin the crank arms might be the move. -

Dont paint them. Sell them, buy 75's you already have a bb for them. treefortbikes is the best deal for them. -

Oh, whew! That is good to hear. I'm so glad you told us all this important info in this thread.
ON TOPIC- I think you should just post your SG75 arms for trade on the classified here and try to get a black pair. Best idea. -

I said he wasn't to be brought up again, carbon fiber 15.
You also said you wouldn't mention him again.
Tisk tisk...
Anyway, important back to important crap.
Bikeisland has them for 193 with free shipping. Plus, my computer fails at flash player.
My buddy, iron jaiden, is posting the silver ones on ebay for me in exchange for my old risers because I am inept at internet life. I think I'll just buy a new pair of crank arms with the money I get from that.
Now to chain rings.
Is the zen chainring worth the extra 30 dollars as opposed to the regular 75 chainring?
I've read that the zen is more round, stiffer, and quieter. Is this true?
