Chris, that is a good ride. Are you just riding in circles for fitness or running errands? -

Oh, gotta double-click.
Cool! The "straight line" thing lets me take the bike path! I've always wanted to figure this out. And the calories must be for walking, not biking.
So, here's the route I take most days into town to meet with clients or buy bread.
I do this one every other week or so to visit family. -

Chris, those calorie numbers are for walking. Divide by 4 or 5 to get the numbers for biking.
I know, it disappointed me, too. -

That's probably just if you're crusing though... If you're pumping up and down hills with authority and got your adrenaline going, your calorie-burning has got to be much higher. -

Nope. Cuz you do it for a shorter amount of time. Also, don't forget: every uphill has a downhill.
Actually, instead of just going on hearsay, I'm gonna hit up Google.
Interesting.
Mostly, what that tells me is that I should bike more. -

Tomorrow I'm going to try and ride from downtown arlington to TCC in Hurst. I found out the TRE station is only 6 miles from my house. I'm pretty stoked on that. We'll see how the ride goes tomorrow. -

The ride went well with minimal wrong turns. I mapped it all out before hand so that helped. It's definitely been the most i've ridden in one day in a looong time... needless to say, my legs slightly feel like jelly and I'm looking forward to lighting up a fat spliff. Here's a pic of the TRE station I passed on the way...
Here's the route:

Other sites for finding and sharing bike routes.
bikely: Great maps and route finder, no time stats.
motion based: Great stats, poor maps.
map my ride: This last site has so many clever features, that it has become non functional on my browser. -

suckafreejosh, that route seems to be... infinite?
Map My Ride makes it awfully hard to see what you're doing around its own ads.
