I know this discussion has gone on a lot but I have a new problem in the realm of Schwinns. First off, I was able to locate the serial number and devise a date of production from that, but I have reached a new point of confusion. The bike was made in June of 1960, but when I got it it had no decals and lots of rust. I would like to find out what model it was. On the fork at the wheel stays there is the number T160. On the dropouts on the inside are the numbers 1236/R and 1236/L. I know the original paint color was chrome but all of my research shows that stock chrome paint on Schwinn bikes didn't come around till the '70s. Does anyone have an answer?
Other info that might help is that the bike is a road bike and the serial is F050966. It has Dia Compe brakes, Sugino Maxypro cranks, and Sake Randnner Handlebars. Although these are all old, I can't say that they are the original parts.

I don't know shit about schwinn but I do know that some frame makers chromed the whole frame and then painted over the tubes to achive the chrome lugs.
