I have a similar question. If a rear hub is 120 spacing, can it be respaced for 110x8 spacing rear?

from what i have heard you cant, i bought a pair of DA njs hubs used and did it like that. you can cold set the back end and grind the drops. (i know one person who did it.) but over all its a really bad idea. and once its done the frame will be a lot weaker.

I had the same problem, I have 110mm in the rear (HAHA!!) with an old Hed disk. My LBS ordered the track spacers and just ground them down to fit in the rear track ends. Cost me like 20 bucks, 10 minutes labor. Check with the manufacturer, they might have some sort of conversion kit available.

The 110mm spacing is easy. Any good LBS or bike mek can stretch it out. If your hubs are either Dura-Ace or Phil Wood, I am pretty sure (87%) that you can buy a conversion kit. Rene has DA conversion kits at his site (NJS SUPERMARKET). Search BikeForums for this issue, tons of postings.

Even with cold setting, I wouldn't trust the idea (despite that Sheldon Brown did it). You're already taking a light track only frame, respacing it, and then riding it on the road. Not to mention, 110 hubs aren't respaced 120 hubs. The best bet would be to have a wheelset with 110 rear spacing. DA and Phil Woods both offer 110 as well as Suntour Superbe Pro, and Sansin Professional. Find either used or NOS as a company out there bought all of them and jacked up the prices.
