Bicycles have been my primary focus since 8th grade when I got my first blue haro bmx bike. I traded some kid for a skateboard, it has skinny tubes and a platform infrot of the seat post. I had never thought about much else, could've cared less about cars when I turned 16. Around 17 my dad gave me his old dual sport when he bought a harley. It was an old huge street legal dirt bike that was as old as I am. For about 5 years when I lived in the suburbs I was completely into motorcycles, but still always kept a bike or two around. It wasn't until I moved to the city for school and realized a 200 degree engine between my legs has no place in city traffic. I ended up selling my last bike 2 years ago and was pretty happy just riding bicycles all year long.

We decided to start looking for a little scooter for my wife, she's always wanted one, so we're in the process of negotiating an old honda c70 with some guy on craigslist, and all of a sudden it hit me bad. I decided I'm gonna start saving and around this time next year I'm gonna see what I can find used. Don't wanna get sucked into payments and all that business again. All this week I'll look on here, looks at bikes I would've been totally excited to see before, and just go "eh...". It's very sad.

The only plus side I see right now is that the bike swap is next weekend, and having my brain distracted might let me come home with a bit more money still in my pocket.

Stay strong! Just like any passion you will come in and out of interest with time, hopefully pedal power will still be your top priority

I think that turned out to be the focus of it as that's what my brain is running on at the moment, but it was meant to be about the fact that I started on bicycles, briefly got into motorcycles, then finally gave them up again just to ride bicycles, and that it's sad that I was getting away from them a little again.

glad to hear that about the passport, it looks pretty sweet, and from what I see online you can get them up to about 53! downhill and with the wind on your back of course. How fast can you comfortable cruise on one of those if we ever took it out of the city? and what if there's 2 people on it(say about 270lbs)? I plan on having her tow me around town. ha

i weight about 170 and on flat ground, it'll purr easily 45-46. i'd be afraid to do much faster until i swap out the dryrotted stock rubbers for the gazelles in my trunk (that sounds like an african porno)i bet with both of you, 40 on flats wouldn't be any problem. best motorized bikes ever made
