Hi there! My name is Brad and I am the founder and CEO of Emerald City Bike Walkers. Our team here at ECBW provides the best bicycle walking in the greater Seattle area. In case you haven't noticed there is a lot of bicycle walking happening in our city. Especially with the weather improving a lot of people are taking their bicycles out of the garage, dusting them off, and walking them through our beautiful city. If you have been on Capital Hill, Downtown or in the University District lately I bet you have seen a number of fixed gears, track bikes, 10-12 speeds and even race bikes being walked around. The committed staff at ECBW understands that you live a busy life and may not always have time to walk your beloved bicycle as much as it deserves. For a surprising low $15 ECBW will walk your bike up and down Broadway, pass the messengers Downtown and up the Ave in the Univesity or anywhere else you would like. This frees up valuable time for you to shop at American Apparel, see a show at Neumos or the new Crocodile, grab a drink or six at the Cha Cha, sit at Bauhaus, browse the Stranger personals or listen to Pitchfork's newest top rated artists. On top of adding additional time to your day, ECBW also allows your flashy fixie or tricked out track bike, race ready road machine or otherwise to be seen around town building your street cred! Don't delay, book your next bicycle walk with Emerald City Bicycle Walkers today!

Why do the pedals move when you push your bike?
Because it doesn't coast.
Why would you ride a bike that doesn't coast?
I don't ride it.
Why not?
Because it doesn't coast. -

Seattle has a lot of hills, and people buy their bikes off the shelves with 48x16 gearing and they can't get up the hills. When I was commuting there I used 48x19 which was a bit spinny but would get me up Pike, Pine in Capitol Hill, and 15th up to Beacon Hill. -

heh, I saw this ad too. Good humor, but it seems to me that Seattle is one of those cities where people ride their bikes more than walk them. Still a fashion accessory, but a functional one at least. Or maybe I'm just not paying enough attention... -

people dont walk their bikes around here either, unless its across a busy-ass street and they aren't comfrotable with it, or thru congested areas to a rack. it's funny, but it doesn;t ring true here thank god.
Maybe I'll start a company that hires attractive people to stand next to your bike and accept compliments on it. and for additional fees, do a trackstand on it every 10 minutes, a backwards circle every 30, and a no-handed trackstand on request -

I wonder if I could pull that off in Berkeley with all the trust fund fixies rollin around? -

Don't kid yourself; the riders here in Berkeley with money are roadies. Not all Berkeley roadies have money, but take a look at the Claremont Peet's some weekend, and you'll see carbon and titanium aplenty. Berkeley is a place where it's easy to be poor and yet keep it under wraps - and this is grim experience talking :-/
Just thinking about it, I can think of about four fixie-only (or fixie-exclusive) bike shops in Berkeley/Oakland/San Francisco. Although they've all got a crowd when I go, I've yet to see anyone actually buy anything.
You want to see fixie kids at work in Berkeley? Come down to Street Level Cycles, West Berkeley's bike kitchen. -

i proudly walk my bike through seattle's hills. fixed gears and hills are for stupid people that don't value safety.
would you prefer we drive them instead, like in southern california? -

Wait, please explain why fixed gears are unsafe on hills?
You must know something us hill riders in colorado don't. -

I'm moving to Seattle so I can have my 'street cred' amplified by having someone else walk my bike by all the messengers that lurk downtown....because that's all I do.. I walk my bike, riding is over rated...and I'll be super 'gangsta' when my bike gets walked. LOL -

I'm Irish and I lived in Seattle illegally working in an Irish bar downtown three years ago, these comments bring back fond memories of living in the horrible U district, can somebody tell me are those little cuntin Ave Rats still running up and down the Ave begging? What a bunch of tossers, what a great city though!! :-) Loved the Burke Gillman..... -

I proudly used a front brake and went down any hill I wanted to in Seattle, with no worries.Posted By: hipsterwould you prefer we drive them instead, like in southern california?
I sooooo bit my tongue about that when I visited San Diego this summer. Nice group of kids though, very friendly and generous. -
