I have read Bicycling for years, but have felt it lacking for a while now. I mean how many of us can afford a 5 grand bike? I much prefer reading material based in my reality. I have high hopes for Dirt Rag’s new magazine, Bicycle Times... -

The only thing I ever end up reading is Urbanvelo, mostly because it's from pittsburgh, so I usually end up coming across a free copy somewhere, or else when i see a new issue is coming out, I can pull the whole thing up as a pdf from their website and read it at work. Plus both the guys who make it are super nice guys.
I may pick up a real cycling magazine to look at if I'm in a book store, but i usually just flip through the pictures quickly. Most of those bikes are too expensive for me to care, and if that's the game I'm gonna play, I'd rather grab a motorcycle magazine so I can day dream about doing wheelies and going 140 mph. -

I've been thinking about doing a zine about bike hacking, myself. Everything else seems so consumer- and sponsor-oriented. It'd be pretty hard to beat Bike Hacks though. -
