does anyone have any tips or tricks for keeping my ourys tight on my risers? I used hairspray on one and water on the other to put them on and let them both dry for a couple days but they both get loose after riding a little while. For me, riding with loose grips is one of the worst things ever. Someone please let me in on the secret to keeping them in place. Thanks
  2.
use rubber cement or increase diamiter by putting somthing like duck tape on the riser where the grips would well grip

Just a side tip, make sure you're gentle when you lean your bike up against walls so the ends don't get holes in them, and don't cut off the ends of your grips. Giving water any chance to get in that wasn't there before makes it twice as hard to keep your grips from coming loose.

ok, I will defintely try the rubber cement/spray glue. thanks. and as for the holes in the ended of the ourys, it probably will let more water in but my main concern with that is that it's looks super dirty. like the diamondback bmx I had when I was 8. when I rocked the dirt nasty rat tail and mc hammer lines in my hair.

    thanks for the advice people

the BEST WAY to install grips is with an air compressor. You have to blow them on. You can do it with canned air too. Make sure the grips, and the bars are clean and dry- get all the crap out that you put in them. just hold the air straw under the grip and it will pull right on. They will never move.

good advice. i've never heard of doing it that way before but i'm a believer. theoretically, it should work the best. we'll see. i'm going to try that asap. thanks hardsole

I use rubbing alcohol for mine, works great.
  8.
Use rubbing alcohol to clean the bar and inside of the grips, let them dry, then use the old air compressor trick to put ‘em on & off.

i agree with stinky pete, rubbing alcohol is the only way the grips will stick there for a while. plus, don't use glue unless you want to ruin the grips and bars.

sorta. you have to cut and thread the 1" fork to use it with a 1" threaded headset and quill stem. your lbs can do that.

I also drop a nickel into each grip so the ends don’t get punched out. Just my 10 cents worth...

    +1
This worked beautifully, and in my opinion is THE proper way to install grips. I just wish I would have learned this about 10 years ago.

    Thanks for the good advice.
