  1.
so i just bought a complete Vivalo bike. the front spacing is: 100mm /w 9mm axle
the rear spacing is: 110mm /w 8mm axle
the wheelset that came with it is a dura-ace 7600 hub set: front: 100mm
    rear: 120mm or alittle less
i dont know if the original owner knew his rear spacing was 110mm and he was using 120mm and stretching out the dropouts. im worried if this is harmful to the frame. if so, could i adjust the spacing on the rear hub to make it 110mm? if you can, how is it done? i tried to loosen the bolts on the axle (not the end bolts) but they were stuck and i wasnt sure if i just needed more force to loosen the bolts or what, but i just didnt want to mess anything up that i wasnt aware of. any help/opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

buy a 110mm dura ace axle kit. it's way better for your hubs and frame.

if it's 110, it's steel. vivalo is njs (well, not anymore)

just cold set the rear triangle. it is easier, cheaper, and will not hurt the frame

steel is easily malleable. your lbs should be able to do it for not to much money. park makes very cool tools that do this, but they are kind of expensive.

by do it, i mean resize your rear spacing to whatever you need.

Or just spread the drops when you install your wheel and call it good. It will not hurt a steel frame at all.
  5.
yeah, currently im just spreading the drops to fit the axle lenght. im trying to get rid of the wheelset regardless because its tubular. so i plan to build a wheelset with 100/110mm spacing and clincher rims. thanks for the info.

This sounds pretty typical. Someone buying something and not knowing anything about it. Good thing you caught it. Have you tried to put a 120 in there?

    That sounds so dirty.....
  6.
theres been a 120 in there, the original owner used 120 in his 110mm spacing...
