Well my two options here arnt countries, and you asked which country builds a better frame... do you mean japanese or italian ? I would say theyre equal . I PERFER njs, but it doesnt mean theyre better in anyway.
  3.
Hahaha, Keirin's Prime Minister is a bitch. I much prefer Pista's ecinomic plan.
  4.
well, I was trying to leave it open ended on purpose for discussion. It doesnt have to be limited to Japan or itialy....... lets call it regional.
  5.
kobe steak or penne pesto...whats it gonna be.apples and oranges ya know.many top japanese frame builders were trained by italian masters such as rossin,de rosa etc. so in a way,on the top shelf at least, they are different paths to the same destination.
  6.
I like the dual purpose tree air freshener. Good form man.

Chee-oh-cha....anyway...Years ago the Italians may have won , but today their offerings do not have the fit and finish required at their price-point ( Cinelli's supercorsa pista is a great example of this. ) . Keirin builders are some of the greatest in the world right now , and the only other builders on their level are , well , other custom framebuilders...

What NJS frame is even available brand new besides the Panasonic POS (which is pretty sweet) and Kalavinka? I thought all these Keiren enthusiasts were buying old frames, not anything new. I would be interested in some new manufacturers if anyone knows of any. I highly doubt Fuji is among them.

Alot of custom framebuilders aren't even built THAT well, they just cover it up with clean finishing and fancy paint jobs. At NAHBS this year, I was impressed with how shoddy some of the frames were built.

I agree with all of that. Otto is correct too, lots of new frame builders popping up with questionable product.

Also you can order a new custom made Samson NJS frame from Harada San. As far as custom framebuilders in the States I agree with Otto Rax. That's why I built my own steel/lugged Bianchi "super pista" frame over the winter and even the trained eye can't tell the difference. Your best bet is to built your own or go with a fame Japanese builder.
