not to repeat the statements above but worst horrible idea ever.
to be constructive you just wouldn't be able to make it work. the shoes are not stiff enough to use with clipless pedals, not to mention i doubt you could find an effective mount for the cleats without taking apart an existing pair of shoes. on top of that you wouldn't have the adjustable cleat position that real shoes give you.
if you are going to spend the money on eggbeaters spend the money on decent shoes. otherwise its just a waste. plus check out some of the threads about clipless shoes on here, you can get some decent shoes for pretty cheap. you dont need to buy $300 sidis.
not to mention i doubt you are going to want to be clipped into your pedals if you are doing tricky-tricky shit. -

Next thing we know, people will be making clipless flip-flops for eggbeaters pedals. Or maybe those cool Croc's shoes. -

if you put a metal plate on the inside of the shoe (near the balls of your foot so it could be flat), drill it, and mount the cleats, i think it would be plausible. I wish i had something like that. i don't like biking to social events wearing bike shoes b/c ppl look at me funny.
post some pics if it works -

@ MacMark the soul of the shoe would have to be stiff aswell, otherwise the metal plate would just twist inside the shoe.. (even if it is a marginal rotation in the shoe, it could cause some pretty terrible dismounts)
I would love to be able to wear my converse with my eggbeaters, but unfortunately its just not possible. throw them in your bag, and put em on when you get there. Your face will thank you for it when you dont eat shit while wearing DIY peice of shit moron shoes. -

Sadly, they are already making sandals with cleat mounts on the bottom. That's right... f'n sandals!!!!
As MacMark says, The only way to mount a cleat to a pair of Sambas would be a metal insole epoxied in between the insole and outsole to keep it in place. Even if you did a perfect job; I'd give them a week tops before they broke or broke you. -
