General: Colnago lineup/heirarchy for 1979

    I've been noticing a nice black Colnago on CL in Chicago, which the owner is calling a 1979 Gran Superissimo with full nuovo record gruppo. Just wondering where that fit into the lineup that year. I can see the Colombus sticker, but can't tell if it's SL, SLX or ? Any Colnago experts out there care to shed some light?

    Year is probably not 1979, see under BB cable guides.
    Hubs are probably not NR, but GS.
    There wasn't a *Gran* Superissimo at any time.
    Superissimos (chromed front lugs) are very rare.
    I'd estimate it to approx. 1982-1984 (too few info for better dating).
    That sticker stands for SL (or SP for frames 58cm up).
    Nice bike, rare color.

    Thanks! I had my suspicions about the "Gran" there. The price keeps coming down, though, and even though it's in Colnago's dark ages, I'm tempted...

    I'll post better info if it becomes available.
