I've stretched out many chains and was wondering what you guys recommend for chains
I've been looking at a Wippermann IG8 and it looks crazy beastly.

How do you manage to stretch out so many chains so often? And how do you know when they are stretched out beyond use?

I've been riding one of those KMC chains for nearly a full year and it's still smooth and quiet. I also ride brakeless, so the chain gets a lot of stress.

get the standard Izumi ones. they last fine.

    are you riding fixed?
if so it's all about the right amount of slack.

if you stretch a chain in 2 month you probably just have too much tension on it when you center your rear wheel in the drops. No chain should stretch in 2 months if it was installed and maintained right. Check with your LBS they can at least take a look at your setup and tell you what's wrong with it.

i've had my d.i.d track chain for about 6 months, never had any problems with stretching or anything. its a bigger thicker chain so yea it's loud, but it will last.
