    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!
  4.
suicide_doors you should have some halloween-esque baked goods!
  5.
Ha. My wife organized this whole thing. I made four breads this week, so it was suggested that I cool it with the baking until after the party. She was going crazy getting everything ready as it was..
  6.
Ah it would be swell to have ghost or ghoul shaped cakes for the younglings!

I havent had a single trick or treater. The local news told all the parents to not take the kids out because of swine flu. This sucks.

At about 6:30, I was getting on the bike to swing down to Peet's for a coffee bean refill before they closed, when a bunch of little six-year-old kids knocked on a door across the street. The neighbor hollered out the window, "We don't have any candy".

It's pretty sad, especially considering said neighbor has a little girl of his own.

In my neighborhood, I blame my own generation. When I was a kid, I regularly filled two paper grocery bags, without having to walk more than three blocks in any direction. When I was in high school, there were a lot of years of teenagers jacking little kids for their swag, and rumors of drugged candy and razor-bladed apples. Halloween in West Berkeley has never recovered.

We had a group of 8 fourth graders (with adult chaperones), then two middle school girls, that was it. Our house is about 150 feet from the street up an unlit gravel driveway and behind an eight foot fence... But we had decorations and tea lights and stuff!

It has been raining off and on all day, so I can't say I was expecting that many to begin with.

I went with my 8 year old. He's only good for about an hour, but we had fun...

Haha good job Greg, all spooky.

We just got back from trick or treating with like 9 parent / kid combos. Crazy fun. Milo cleaned up this year.
We decided to go with a theme this year for our costumes. And what better costume theme than Star Wars!!!
While it may very well be the most played out costume series on earth it's also still like the most fun. :)

Here's Jess and Milo as Leia and R2-D2:

And here's Milo wearing my storm trooper helmet. I didn't take any pics of myself but other people took a bunch. The costume was pretty elaborate:

    Good times. I love halloween.

  11.
only 4 kids came to my house. just like 4 or 5 years ago countless amounts of people would come to every house ,but not now.

We handed out 120 pieces of candy (boxes of lemonheads, grapeheads, cherryheads, and appleheads) - tons of kids!

IJ: awesome 3CPO costume! The best family/friends combo we saw was Bart Simpson, Moe, and Homer. The dad/Homer was drinking a beer of course

    I LOVE LEMON HEADS
All I did for halloween was taking apart and cleaning my bikes

Lemon heads are awesome - the Ferrara Pan candy factory is an easy 10 minute bike ride from where we live so it was easy to swing by and grab a few cases (I think my dentist may be happy because we still have about 60 boxes left that have to get eaten some how)

I wish I had a box or two or three perhaps four right about now

jeez! the street my apartment is on in st. paul (summit ave, if that helps explain things to any of you in the know) was like gangbusters last night with trick-r-treaters. the house across the street had a line a half a block long (not even joking) easily 1,000 people walked by my apartment, probably more.

I just want to repost this picture out of every positive emotion I have:
