    Girl road bikes that look like this :

    Girls probably shouldn't wear dresses to exercise. I don't see why they must have this design. When i see a girl actually ride something like this, i chuckle a little. Most of the time, they're not wearing a dress. Even if they were, it'd be a little ridiculous.

    it's on the really small gear for climbs and when i see people pedaling frantically on that gear riding on flat ground i laugh a little too.

    sooo.... about the bike... yes I agree. Not really sure why these "traditions" are held up still.

    I don't know about that bike (looks kind of horendous), but my wife has an old Ross Adventurer women's road bike that we converted to single speed. She likes it because when she is stopped she doesn't have to straddle anything. She can just stand there. I like it too, but it's an older bike and doesn't look like this thing!

    As far as the alt mixte frame goes (girls), young girls still wear dresses and still ride bikes wearing them. I actually saw a college student in a mini skirt riding one the other day.

    Still big in Scotland with the guys (see kilt)... I bet ya wouldn't chuckle at them...

    Well, I suppose it would be nice to just be able to stand over the bike without having to worry about a bar being there; but I think it's all tradition. I know my Mother and Father, and well, the entire, look at my sister funny for riding a "man's" road bike.
