Hey guys I have a San Marco Rolls in white. My jeans made the saddle not so white anymore(pictured on the kilo)

What are the some ways to take off the stains to make my saddle white again without damaging anything?

    Thank you

I forgot who said it, but there is a bike on here with white tires which the owner compared to a bathroom floor as far as soaking up stains goes.. Something like that. The point is, white things tend to look like shit right quick.

I have used small amounts of lacquer thinner to clean leather in the past. I can't say I've tried it on a saddle, but I know others have. It does tend to artificially dry the leather, so if you have Brooks' Proofide for your B17, you can treat it with that afterward. I would try it on a small area first before going wild.

As I said, this is just an idea which I have not tried myself and am not completely sure it will solve your problem... So....

According to peoples girlfriends: alcohol free baby wipes, mr clean magic erasers (gently), leather cleaner, and a white sock soaked in a lightly soapy water are all options worth trying. Its not really going to help you in the long term though. There are 3 real solutions to this problem: 1) stop riding in jeans 2) stop riding with a white saddle 3) stop caring (my personal favorite).

Wait, Wes, are you saying that the cleaning should be left up to them women?!?? (I say this as my wife cleans the house.)

Yeah I should have added a fourth real solution: make your girlfriend clean it everyday. But seriously... I mentioned this once and my friends girlfriends started a convo about how this always happens to white leather purses. Thats where my advice came from.

Either buy a plastic saddle, or start cleaning a white saddle from day 1. Most the time you cant get the blue out once it hits a certain point without damaging the leather. You think white saddles are easily ruined, try white grips.

Fifth solution: White jeans, you will have to worry about the blue stained seat staining your new white jeans though.

Try cleaning it with non-acetone finger nail polish. It will work. Then apply a coat of neutral shoe polish or Brooks' Proofide
DO NOT USE lacquer thinner, it will take off the white dye

I personally hold the opinion that wear and tear on bicycle components is quite attractive. That said, leave the saddle blue.

You are aware that they make white dye for leather, yes? You can get it at shoe repair places (AKA cobblers).

I'd get the saddle as clean as possible with saddle soap and water first, to remove whatever schmutz is on the surface. The next step is trying to extract whatever blue dye has been absorbed by the leather, which will require some kind of chemical solvent. I know that you can use rubbing alcohol to remove inkstains from fabric; I imagine it might also be effective on leather, as long as the leather is remoisturized pretty quickly afterward with neatsfoot oil or Proofide. Danzap's fingernail polish (dz, are you sure you don't mean fingernail polish remover?) also sounds viable. Once you've done all that, you do the dye, and then reProofide/polish/wax.

i just use the same rag i use to clean my bike with and it comes right off. you can also use some of the car leather cleaning wipes to do it if you are worried about the leather drying out

I think that if you got over looking like a dork your junk would be a lot more comfortable. I ride in jeans all the time but centuries... damn. Didnt your legs start to swell up and get restricted by the jeans. I wear 501s and my knees get pretty tight in them after 15 miles.
