I've been watching the footage on Universal Sports (NBC's sports channel) every day, and there's been some pretty spectacular stuff: The mammoth crash in Liege just before the end of Stage 4 that took out 1/3rd of the peloton, a bunch of brutal mountaintop finishes, a lot of bunch-sprint finishes. Right now, they're running the video from Stage 19: An 80kph descent of Navacerrada (mountain northwest of Madrid), with Alejandro Valverde and Sammy Sanchez flying down a cracked, rain-soaked stretch of nausea-inducing hairpins.

Just watching it makes me queasy.
  1.
Havent really been following at all, but did catch some videos today. I saw that crash, holy wow, that was alot of riders down, all down cause of one rider slipped, jeeezzz bummer... Im watching the end of stage 19 now, that descent is crazy fast 73km or more down hill in the rain, how nuts is that, the turns are so tight....

ya that descent was spooky. I remember a little earlier someone was doin a descent and got a soft tire and was "hot footing" it down the hill :O

The Vuelta this year was probably the most exciting of the three tours this year. That descent was really terrific. Amazed to see that the others could catch up with Sanchez. Under different circumstances no one would have been able to.
Now with the TT done, I guess the podium is set.
