I have a friend who uses an alarm. Shit goes off at nothing a little too frequently for me. It's a good idea though. Goodnight.

i can already imagine setting my own alarm off on my bike and having people just walk by and do nothing

sorry but this seems about just as pointless as car alarms- how many times a day do you hear a car alarm - and does anyone ever stop and call the cops the second a car alarm goes off?
  3.
That's true, there are several good videos on YouTube with folks stealing their own bikes to see if anyone does anything. Shit's ridiculous to watch.

SIlent paging alarm with gps that you can follow from your cellphone. Either call the cops and roll with them to get the bike or form your own lynch mob.

    Now, THAT makes sense!
I would spend money for a set up like that! Is there by chance a system like that currently on the market?

It's been my fantasy for years, for cars, motorcycles or bicycle. If I knew anything about electronics I'd make one.
