    low clearance where?
  2.
if you're talking about tire clearance its all if you can add stuff like fenders and stuff or how big you can run your wheels
  3.
I think he means like between your rear wheel and seat tube or your front wheel and your downtube

or do you mean low clearance between your nutbag and toptube? low clearance there is no fun.

    Correct me if I'm wrong....

Tight geometry or "clearance" on a bike can be good and bad. If you have very tight geometry, usually found in track frames, you will have toe-overlap which can be annoying but you get used to it after a bit. You also won't be able to fit tires larger than a 700c X 28. I believe the main reason for having such tight geometry on track frames is because it makes them more responsive with handling and more efficient for pedaling with being more "over the gear".

Its great to have low clearance between your risers and your top tube. That way when you bust x-treme barspins it looks even more death defying.

doesn't matter really. might minutely decrease drag, but only if you're an olympian.

Ahhhh there we go. Yeah man makes little to no difference. If you're riding a track bike around the city and need to skid having the rear wheel right under your ass makes it a tad easier but that's usually a non-issue. Not saying the ride doesn't change with a longer wheelbase but fork rake is what's going to make the big difference in how your bike feels when it comes to that. Whoever told you that was "good" for some reason is NOT the person you want installing your new headset with a mallet or giving you advice about throwing your front brake in the trash because you don't really use it anyways... just a heads up for the future :)
