i just got my 650c wheel for my windsor- the hour and when i put on the wheel, the wheel clears the frame but it hits my pedals.. is there some technique or do i need a new smaller crank arm thing? how do u pros do barspins? i see people barspin while the crank arms are horizontal but i cant?
  1.
Toeverlap is something you have to pay attention to when you're designing a bike. Sometimes, you just have to make sure your feet aren't there when you turn the bars.
  2.
get your timing right i guess and if it helps you can get shorter crank arms

    LOL.
  4.
guess Im not a pro, since I dont even do barspins.

But my suggestion is get a trick specific frame, instead of rigging it up.

I think some people are using 150mm flatland BMX cranks on their Fixed trick bikes. Might be a good idea considering that using a 650 front wheel just dropped the front of your bike an inch.

almost everyone tricking has barspin overlap....you just have to time your spins to when your cranks are out of the way...

    Reinforcing whats already been stressed:
    Practice.
Even some of the "trick specific" fixed gear frames have overlap.
Get some of the holdfast/feetbelts/etc. straps and eliminate the extra length cages add?

Yeah lower the front end two inches and end up with a 78 degree head angle.

Thats not much of a deterrent skidmark. It gives kids a way to make their bikes look pursuit-ish and do barspins. They probably think thats the coolest shit ever.

wes, didn't you know pursuit frames were made for barspinz?
    duh.
    pfffft.
    :>

With a smaller wheel, you've got less trail. Less trail means the bike will be less inclined to go forward and easier to turn. Maybe that's good or maybe it's not, but it doesn't sound to me like you're taking bike design into account on this bike at all.

How about bar spins on a 700 front 650 rear? seems like it would be easier to rock back with a smaller wheel in the rear
  7.
I think a 20" in back would be perfect.
  8.
no forget that take the wheel of of a razor scooter, mod. it to take gears and put it on the back
  9.
Or maybe just the bearings out of the wheel.

Everyone is overlooking the obvious answer to this question. You simply put a 10" scooter wheel on the front and *pretso* bar spins galore and ultra pursuit look. Best of both worlds. OK, really, practice and work on your timing and crank position.

My first post about using shorter cranks with a 650c wheel was serious BTW.
  10.
Yep. Use the cranks off this Jamis.

You'll have to cut-n-paste, but here's a link to some BMX flatland cranks from Quamen and St.Martin, available as short as 145mm, and as nice if not nicer than any fixed gear crank out there.

I don't know why a few of you are being so smarmy. If you don't like fixed gear freestyle, then why comment? I come from a BMX background, and yeah the tricks are easy in comparison, but so fucking what. It's fun, and not as lame as posing at a cafe, or for that matter poking down the street at 10 mph like most fixsters do.
  11.
Oo! Good idea! I'm going down to a café.
  12.
ebay has super short cranks lol. 150mm...
