My father bought me my first road bike which turned out to be a Gardin. Not knowing anything much about it, anybody with any knowledge would be helpful -

I rode one for years. Beautiful bikes. Mine had a full campy component group.
As to my knowledge, they were a small manufacturer out of Ontario (though I could very easily be mistaken).
If anyone else out there knows anything more it would be interesting to hear about. -

Gardin was a bike enthusiast and built frames in his hydraulics factory in Mississauga, Ontario. He later began importing brands from Italy such as Cambio Rino. -

So yes, I got a gardin about five years ago here in toronto, and it was that bike that got me in to cycling in an unhealthy way. full campy. It turns out, he came to canada from Italy, brought some Italian bike experts, and opened up shop using only the best, columbus, campy ect... apparently, he went a little crazy, the guy was a tyrant from what i hear, (coming from a buddy of mine who used to tinker around in his shop as a kid), and Joe Gardin ended up selling the name to Rhino. They kept the line going for a while but the quality of the bike ended up dropping drastically.
All in all, I f-in love mine. She's now become my sunday ride and never gets wet... I know have other bikes i like to gently abuse. check here out -
