I searched and i didn't find this anywhere....

    What straps are better?

    SAG Doubles or Toshi Doubles?
  2.
well the sags are usually like 20 bucks cheaper depending on where you're buying from.

i'd like to know too tho

sags are leather and toshis are suede.

I use both and I don't feel the difference only the SAG's looks cooler.
  3.
the sags have a laminated leather outside and a suede inside

the sags are actually reinforced with nylon between the layers of leather, much like mks or kashimax straps. very nice stitchwork on the sags as well.

    Ok ok good info....

I have single straps now and i was wondering if it's alright to run double straps on single strap cages....

I have seen this before but does anyone have experience with this at all?

Yep, works like a charm. The idea of the double is to give you better foot retention. The second strap will go on top of your cage and give you the same grip you'd have with a double cage.

Awesome, thanks everyone for your posts/advice.

    I think i'm gettin' some SAG's now :)

    ....so are toshis

yes, but the sags are made of a leather laminate construction with proper stitching to give it more support, whereas the toshis are made with a suede laminate. the laminate material serves as the outermost layer; so while the construction of both straps is quite similar, one is ultimately choosing between external materials (or colors).

anyone know where to find em? the mash store is sold out.

friend has them. stiching broke within two months. then they started to de-lam shortly after.
  9.
where's the cheapest place to buy toshis?
  10.
    well great....now i'm undecided :(

    Thanks for the info Rabbi...
  11.
toshis are the best. i have them and i couldnt be happier in investing that much money on straps.
  12.
    has anyone tried both?
  13.
My vote goes for Toshi's. Been riding them for over a year, everyday, rain and snow, and they are still perfect (besides discoloring). No stretch or anything, and I ride brakeless.

Go for the Toshi's, been riding them since day one and have never had a problem with them. Except that I got white. Now they're brown and gray. The brown isn't from poo, well, not mine at least. Had some SAG straps but sold them cause I would've ruined them after a week of riding and they were way too pretty, so I ebay'd em.

Does anyone have the Kashimax doubles? Same or better than Toshi's?
  14.
kashimax ones are usually more expensive ie you need maximum kash for em.

probably not any better than the others tho

  16.
lowest i've seen have been like 85, but they were straight from japan, so it still came out to 100+ w/ shipping.

Cadence makes a great double strap for about $50. Never tried Toshi or SAG, although I'd love to, but these straps are great.

there is very very little mark up on toshis, or anything from eai for that matter , so you wont find somewhere selling em much cheaper than someone else.

I have Kashimax doubles and I haven't experienced anything else besides cheap single leather crap straps or nylon. And lemme tell you though... once you slide your feet in, and tighten it, your foot is stuck for good until you either constantly wiggle your feet over and over or loosen it yourself. These things don't loosen up at all, but when you hit the silver locking thing (not sure what you call this part), it loosens easily. Even if you don't fully tighten it, but get the straps to be perfectly fit so you can just easily slide your feet in, you'll get no float. These things look like they'll last ages and ages to come. Just dish out for some NJS stuff (I know this sounds sort of "go Japan! Go NJS stamp thing!" etc or whatever), but for the straps, it's really worth it. Way better to dish out the ~$100 and only have to do it once, than pay multiple times with cheaper stuff.
